Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Telemetry Float Pool Job Duration: 13-week assignment Shift: 12-hour days; must work 4 weekend shifts per schedule (Saturday/Sunday) Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Yes, required to submit Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Ability to titrate cardiac drips - Ability to interpret EKGs - Pass a dysrhythmia exam before contract signing (2 attempts allowed) - Pass/Fail Sim Lab on the first day of orientation Job Description: - First to float; must be willing to float between different units and campuses as needed - Required to work 2 out of 3 major holidays - Float between telemetry and medical-surgical units, including ICU, Cardiac Tele, observation floor, and others - Floor-specific orientation provided for 2 days - Common diagnoses include post-cath lab, vascular procedures, neuro post-surgical, and general telemetry patients - Weekend requirement is every other weekend, with rotations between campuses - Charge Nurse and Clinical Supervisor roles on units - No pediatric care; care provided for patients 15 years and older - Nurses are expected to work in a variety of environments, including post-surgical and oncology units Additional Information: - Centralized telemetry; RNs must be proficient in reading EKGs - Hospitals staffed with pharmacy, respiratory therapists, and hospitalists or intensivists available 24/7 - Team includes Patient Care Technicians with a ratio of 1 per every 16 patients - Nurses provided with spectralink phones for communication and call light management - Shifts run from 7 AM to 7 PM
