are looking for a fluids design engineer designing the fluid
systems for Lunar spacecraft. Work will include the complete life
cycle of the system from definition, interfaces, conceptual design,
detailed design, component development, assembly, verification, and
operation. You will own your components from initial design to
analyzing data from their landing on the moon!You will understand
and contribute to flight piping and instrumentation diagrams and
schematics. You will design and perform 1st order analyses to
verify your designs. You will work with suppliers or Blue Origin
groups to identify and procure components. You will contribute to
Lunar vehicle design in CAD by modeling valves, propulsion
elements, sensors, piping, and other equipment in the flight
vehicle. You will size, select material, and analyze piping and
supporting structure for structural integrity due to pressure,
vibration, fracture, fatigue, etc. You will manage suppliers and
other support to procure, fabricate, and install flight hardware.
You will create and manage the project plans for various hardware
including cost and schedule.Bring your technical expertise,

required!Responsibilities:
- Fluids systems design and development, including developing
specifications and procurement of components, designing of parts
and assemblies in CAD, performing trade studies, and analysis of
test data
- Interpreting and generating Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams
(P&IDs)
- Design and/or create specifications for fluid/gas components
i.e., solenoid valves, directional valves, manifolds, regulators,
pressure vessels and instrumentation
- Develop and maintain interface definitions between fluid
systems and other vehicle subsystems
- Design and analyze custom components for fluid, thermal and
structural applications
- Perform component verification of internally and externally
sourced components to company standards
- Coordinate with other subsystem teams to ensure operability and
fitment
- Good project management skills are necessary in this role to be
successful including vendor management.Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related engineering
field
- 2+ years of experience in aerospace propulsion and fluid
systems
- Experience in 3D CAD programs, drawing creation, piping
applications, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) programs (ANSYS
Preferred).
- Experience performing flow and pressure calculations as well as
structural and thermal analysis of fluid systems
- Experience handling large assemblies in CAD
- Knowledge of design for manufacturability for a variety of
manufacturing methods (CNC machining, cold forming, welding,
additive manufacturing)
- Knowledge of standard installation and fabrication methods of
fluid systems (tube stock, fittings, connections, fasteners,
welding, etc.)
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional
relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident
(current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as
a refugee or granted asylum.Desired:
- Advanced degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related
engineering field
- Experience with additive manufacturing for end-use
applications
- Experience qualifying components and systems for air or space
flight
- Experience with Creo, Creo Piping and Windchill
- Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 geometric dimensioning and
toleranceCompensation Range for:CA applicants is
$89,820.00-$125,748.00;CO applicants is $82,335.00-$115,269.00;WA
